ARTIST PROFILE
Tui-Eilish Tahere-Katene in 19 years old & has just begun her Early Childhood teaching journey at Te Kōhanga Reo o Turoa. Tui is aptly named after the beautiful singing bird ‘Me he korokoro Tūī’.
Tui has just completed a new waiata based on the Kapiti College Production of ‘Parihaka’ called Warriors of Peace. Tui was a lead character in the Parihaka production. Tui sings both locally throughout Kapiti & Wellington, & nationally for sporting events. Tui’s big events for 2025 include Gardens Magic, Waitangi Festival, Ratana Festival, Matariki Festival, BOP Rugby stadium NPC & Governor Generals Matariki Banquet.
